hi.

update.

so, i never completed the ten day challenge like i had intended and i haven’t gotten on here as much as i had planned, but i’m working on it.

switzerland. i would just like to say that this was both one of the worst and best traveling experiences i have ever had.

the good:
seeing Christine in DC
traveling to about every inch of Switzerland
(biel, bern, zurich, laax, lugano)
new year’s eve
gin and gingerale
charades
chocolate, wine, bread, cheese
milan, italy
the swiss walk
“hot bitches”
the galaxy
table bomb
“dul-les”
indecision
lara, elouise, stefano
michael pulfer, katy hagan
oh, and learning the entire german language in 3 1/2 hours… HA.

the bad:
stomach virus
peanut butter crackers
missed flight
dulles airport
3 1/2 hour customer service line
lost luggage
buying/borrowing clothing
1 outfit, 3 days
over-sized ski jacket and pants
8 hour and 56 minute flight
still not knowing where my luggage is… over 10 days later

besides the whole missing luggage thing, the good definitely outweighed the bad. made some memories that will last a lifetime.

reality. after spending the holidays with my family and friends at home then taking a trip to switzerland, it’s back to reality. and i hate it already. one class. five textbooks. one read by tuesday. haven’t even purchased any of them… and that’s only one class. on top of classes, the majority of my essentials were lost with my luggage and now i have to call multiple airlines and fill out pages of paperwork to ultimately get reimbursed for most likely a great deal less than what i actually lost. and then have to repurchase all of these things. work and school on monday and lots to do. slowly coming to the realization that vacation is over. it’s back to days of homework, reading, teaching, and thousands of to-do lists. this semester is not going to be easy, i am not looking forward to it.
